Aurubis Bulgaria provides BGN 1.36 M in support of the Pirdop-Zlatitsa region under the new Partnership Programs
Aurubis Bulgaria AD will provide BGN 1.36 M for social projects in the Pirdop-Zlatitsa region. The company has entered into framework agreements with the two municipalities amounting to BGN 680 thousand each. The Programs will be implemented by the end of September 2021. Priorities are education, culture, healthy lifestyle, social activities.
Funds are allocated for improvement of the education conditions at the high schools Savo Savov and St. Paisii Hilendarski, Zlatitsa dual education school, Todor Vlaykov primary school, the municipal kindergartens. The medical care in the villages of Karlievo, Tsarkvishte and Petrich will be supported under the Partnership Program with Zlatitsa Municipality. Budget is also allocated for promoting the region as a leisure and tourism site. Last year, the building of the historic Zlatitsa nunnery was restored with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria.
The community centres and libraries in Pirdop, Zlatitsa, Petrich, Tsarkvishte and Karlievo will be supported. The company will continue with its traditional support of cultural initiatives, local amateur sports clubs, social clubs, maintenance of playgrounds.
The Agreements were signed remotely by the Mayor of Zlatitsa Stoyan Genov, the Mayor of Pirdop Angel Gerov, Tim Kurth, CEO of Aurubis Bulgaria, Ivailo Georgiev, Head of Public Affairs. Due to the situation with Covid-19 the Municipalities, direct beneficiaries and Aurubis Bulgaria will be able to negotiate reallocation of funds, if necessary. The Partnership Programs will be implemented in a spirit of transparency. Projects, achieved results, amendments will be made public through the Srednogorie region press.

In addition, Aurubis Bulgaria provides BGN 160 thousand for the Pirdop hospital: BGN 100 thousand under an annual support agreement, BGN 60 ad hoc support regarding the Covid-19 situation.
