Aurubis Bulgaria was awarded for the EU Presidency support

On 4th and 5th of September Aurubis Bulgaria hosted Capital Market day of Aurubis AG. The event is the main meeting of investors and financial analysts, organized by the concern and is held every two years in different countries. Bulgaria hosted the event for the first time.

During the forum in Sofia on 4th September, Minister Liliana Pavlova handed a certificate for partnership to Aurubis Chief Executive Jürgen Schahler. She also personally thanked Aurubis Bulgaria's team for co-operation in the preparation and holding of the presidency of the Council of the EU.

During the Bulgarian Presidency, the company was presented at the highest level at the meeting of EU economic ministers in Sofia. The Aurubis plant in Srednogorie region also welcomed the attachés for environment and climate of the EU member states. The copper plant has helped to organize several international conferences where Aurubis has set the themes for creating a single EU industrial strategy, the development of the circular economy, environmental protection and the energy challenges facing the basic industries.

"Your support during the first Bulgarian Presidency was invaluable - not only to organize events and participation in the important discussions, but also to promote our country and the opportunities for investment," Minister Pavlova said.

The forum was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Finance Marinella Petrova, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency Stamen Yanev, as well as the Ambassador of Germany to Bulgaria HE. Herbert Salber.
