Dimo Kirilov, General Director Primary Copper
Dimo Kirilov was born in the town of Pirdop. In 2001 he graduated with a Master’s degree in metallurgy from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy.
During the last 10 years, he has held different positions at the company first known as Umicore, then Cumerio and now Aurubis. His career began in 2001 when he was a metallurgical engineer in the Technology and Production Department, where he was responsible for the projects related mainly to the optimization of production processes. Later, he took different positions in various metallurgical sectors. In the period 2009-2010, he was the leader of the Innovation and Technology Department, where he was involved with the management of laboratory, sampling, grading and development activities. Since 2009 he has been part of the company’s senior management team an Assistant Director of Production at Aurubis Bulgaria.
On January 1, 2012 he became General Director Primary Copper with direct responsibility for over 350 employees in all main production units in the company – Smelter, Refinery, Acid Plant and Flotation Plant.
